La Locanda is the Ritz Carltons stunning over-water Italian Restaurant where southern Italy is recreated in the Maldives. This is where guests enjoy breakfasts daily, with spectacular views out to the turquoise lagoon. Iwau, which means in Japanese ‘to celebrate’, is the Ritz Carlton’s Japanese Teppanyaki Restaurant. ACTIVITES

At the same time, it is also perfect for those who want to retreat to the sanctuary of their private villa oasis or relax in a private cabana on the beach. The Fari Marina Village is a 5 minute boat ride away and offers luxury shopping, fine dining, and workshops focused on arts, culture, and local crafts.
Providing guests with a Maldivian cultural experience is a highlight of any stay at The Ritz Carlton Maldives. On arrival, guests are greeted by the blowing of the Sangu conch shell, still performed by Maldivian families as their fishing boats return home. Following the circular theme, every evening at sunset, a flaming ceremony called ‘The Defining Moment’ is held. Beginning with a Bodu Beru drum performance, a circular torch is lit to mark the transition from day to evening.
The Ritz Carlton has two beach clubs. It has its own Beach Club next to the water sports centre It also has the Fari Island Beach Club located a 5 minute boat ride away, which includes luxury food trucks and restaurants. It has two pools, one on the Ritz Carlton Island itself and the second at the Fari Beach Club. All non-motorized water-sports are available complimentary at the Ritz Carlton Beach Club. The Ritz-Carlton has a beautiful snorkelling area in front of the water villas that your Island Butler can arrange for a pontoon boat to take you to. There is a pontoon there you can relax on after snorkelling and your Island Butler will arrange for you to be collected and return to the Beach Club.

For the younger Ritz Carlton guests, the Ritz Kids Club. The Ritz Kids Club is also circular in shape and is an incredible futuristic indoor and outdoor facility. The program uses its four pillars, land, water environmental responsibility and culture to create amazing daily activities including sports, arts and crafts, cooking classes and more. It is really suitable for younger kids through to 12 year olds. There is also a teen room across from the Kids Club and Beach Club with video games, pool tables and a place for them to escape the day time heat.
