Niyama is a large size island with enough area to offer space but not too large, maintaining that more boutique feel. The resort pool is extremely inviting, surrounded by brightly coloured yellow umbrellas and pool furnishings. You can’t help but feel happy and relaxed here. Niyama has a unique food outlet called the Deli. The Deli sells gourmet paninis and light healthy lunch options that you can walk in and buy to eat by the pool, back at your villa or really anywhere you can think of! It is these funky little twists that make Niyama different. Being the only resort in the Dhaalu Atoll, Niyama has the atoll all to itself, including the surf breaks just off the back side of the island. Surf or snorkel in the morning, spa in the afternoon, dinner fire side followed by an after dinner drink at the underwater bar. What a way to spend the day!
VILLAS
Niyama’s villas and pavilions are vibrant and modern with stylish furniture that is decorated with bright colours. They offer every modern amenity that you could possibly contemplate. The beach villas and pavilions have beautiful outdoor bathrooms with their own water feature and stepping stones through the water to the outdoor shower. The Overwater villas and pavilions are decorated with turquoise and white. The private pools are the perfect colour, blending beautifully with the turquoise lagoon. At night they are lit with hundreds of tiny fibre optic lights.

Dining
Dining at Niyama matches the resort vibe perfectly. It offers multiple options that are all modern and completely unique. The main restaurant Epicure is beautiful and decorated in cool colours. Set around the stunning main pool, breakfasts here are the perfect way to start the day, looking out over the pool with the bright yellow umbrellas spotted around the beach. Tribal is a true dining experience and certainly is one of a kind. Set by the beach, surrounded by vegetation, this African themed restaurant has a tented roof and fire pits scattered around the sand based floor. Edge is Niyama’s floating restaurant accessible only by boat. It is an amazing dining experience and uniquely Niayma. Follow this with after dinner drinks at Subsix, the world’s only underwater restaurant that turns into a bar and it is a perfect evening. The treetop restaurant Nest is reborn, a hideaway deep in the jungle where you can dine in the treetops. Weaving your way through banyan vines to your chosen table, you’ll enjoy flavours of the exotique – fiery Japanese teppanyaki, the spice of Southeast Asia – and avant-garde cocktails.

Niyama is the only luxury surf resort in the Maldives with its own wave breaking right onto the shore at Vodi Point - making your surf travel dreams come true. Just off the edge of Niyama’s Play Island you’ll find Vodi, a powerful and sometimes hollow left hander. Off to the west and five minutes away by speedboat, Kasabu is a rippable and hollow right hander. Or explore some other options around Niyama under different conditions. Our hotel surf guides keep an eye on the conditions and will recommend the time and place to surf to get the most out of your holiday. If Vodi is breaking well, it’s a simple paddle out. If conditions are better for another spot – they will let you know.

The water sports centre offers endless activities for those in search of water action. Niyama is all about experiencing the resort and whether this involves laizing by the stunning pool under the bright yellow umbrellas or wakeboarding through the turquoise lagoon, Niyama caters well for all. Niyama has a games centre that is perfect for the young at heart. It has a pool table, all the electronic games you can think of but the best part is definitely the Simulator! Try a game of golf. It is really fun and a great way to cool off for an hour in the afternoon.

The Lime Spa is an experience not to missed. Keeping with the theme of the resort, the Spa has a funky and bright feel to it with cool whites decorated with crisp citrus greens. You can’t help but feel rejuvenated after a Lime treatment. The Spa is set on the beach front within beautiful gardens and lagoon views. The perfect way to recharge the batteries.
