Offering a luxury island experience with a Robinson Crusoe feel, the resort and villas are built from natural timber and designed with a modern twist, decorated with bright cushions and stylistic furniture made from sustainably grown timber. The island itself is a large natural paradise with a stunning turquoise lagoon and soft white sand. This combined with the many dining options, most set over-water, provides a dining hub with a vibrant atmosphere.

There’s so much to love here: the Robinson Crusoe style luxury, vibrant atmosphere and natural haven if you’re seeking adventure, surfing, snorkelling, bike riding, fantastic dining, turtle nesting, kids club and unique Spa experience.

Six Senses Laamu is a large enough island to cater perfectly for couples wanting a romantic escape in an over water villa to families wanting a more active break, staying in beach villas. Families love the island's kids club and there are plenty of activities to keep kids super busy. The service here is exceptional with every guest allocated a Guest Experience Manager 'GEM' to look after your every need.

The Water and Beachfront Villas here have been built from timber grown in sustainable forests and shipped over to the Maldives. Designed with a Robinson Crusoe deserted island feel but with a modern twist, all with sea views and an amazing outdoor bathroom and rain shower. Extremely private, the villas are spaced at a much wider distance apart. They offer all modern amenities including a huge flat screen TV hidden behind perfectly subtle woven doors and a Bose entertainment system.

For relaxing afternoons, the villas have a staircase leading to an upstairs viewing deck complete with a beautiful day bed or dining table. All villa decks are separated from the inside by glass doors that slide back offering complete indoor, outdoor living.

The Water Villas are decorated with brightly coloured cushions and have an amazing outdoor deck. They have a built in glass bottom dining table and gorgeous deck chairs built into the edge of the deck. They also have a stunning bathroom with a glass bath tub and an outdoor over-water shower. The Lagoon Water Villas, Ocean Water Villas and Laamu Water Villas are structurally all the same. It’s their position on the jetty, outlook and privacy that differ.

After dinner, lie out on your cushioned deck chairs and take in the night’s sky littered with stars! The Laamu Water Villas are located at the ends of the jetties with absolute privacy and incredible views. Very romantic.

The Beach Villas are fantastic and extremely private with vegetation surrounding each villa. Decorated with brightly coloured cushions, each villa has the perfect private beach area. The outdoor bathroom is enormous, decorated with white stone it has two outdoor showers and is encased by bamboo fencing. The Lagoon Beach Villas and the Ocean Beach Villas are the same villas structurally. It is their position on the island and their outlook that differs.

The Two Bedroom Lagoon Beach Villa is one of our favourite family villas in the Maldives. Pure luxury with your own tree house. A private pool, two beautiful bedrooms with huge indoor/outdoor bathrooms, enormous living room with couches and dining table and two upper level dining areas with uninterrupted 360 degree views.

The Lagoon Beach Villas are on the more protected side and are closer to the main restaurant hub. The Ocean Beach Villas are located on the opposite side and have more privacy. The Two Bedroom Lagoon Beach Villa is the perfect private family retreat. With two Beach Villas joined by wooden walk-ways, a huge separate living area with dining table and couches that open out to a picture perfect light blue coloured private swimming pool, it's your own Robinson Crusoe tree house retreat.

Six Senses has created a vibrant dining atmosphere with music, restaurants and an over-water bar with over-water hammocks and cushions providing the perfect location to watch the stunning Maldivian sunset. It’s the Maldives largest over-water amenities facility. And for the perfect afternoon treat, try the ice cream and chocolate studio, Ice.

Longitude, the main restaurant, is an outstanding dining option, built over water with two storeys. It is divided into individual areas of ten or so tables connected by bridges or walk-ways. There is even an area allocated for couples only and one for families so neither experience is compromised.

Leaf is their Signature Restaurant themed beautifully and one of the best restaurants in the Maldives. Built on stilts, high in the tree canopy with access via a swinging bridge, it's next to the resorts' own organic produce garden.

For the most memorable dinner, we’d book one of the round dining tables at Leaf so you can enjoy a delicious dinner under the stars!

Deck-a-Dence is another amazing dining option at Six Senses, set over-water on a private jetty in front of the main restaurant. Dine from a carbon neutral menu at one of six low set cushioned tables with a glass bottomed floor. The stars are simply amazing from these tables.  For a unique overwater dining experience, you can't go past Zen, offering a modern twist on delicious Japanese cuisine. Enjoy a Six Senses signature cocktail while you dine.

Sip Sip is the stunning sunken swimming pool bar and light lunch area offering a full bar, wood fired pizzas and al carte menu.  Relax here during the day or drop by for a cocktail and enjoy an amazing sunset. For the wine lovers, Altitude Wine Cellar has more than 420 old world and new world vintages housed in a wine tower 6.4 metres above the Indian Ocean.

Destination Dining covers a range of scheduled on island dining options: beach BBQ's, lobster dinner or decadent wine dinners. These are extremely popular so let us book this for you prior to your arrival. Or let us plan your very private secluded beach dinner.

This adventure playground has all the activities you could think of, both on land and in the water. With Yin Yang, one of the most famous surf breaks in the Maldives visible from the beach, Six Senses Laamu is one of our favourite luxury surfing resorts. May to September is the best time to visit if you're a surfer as the swells are easterly or southerly (the biggest swells most likely during June to September). We can arrange trips both morning and afternoon.

Six Senses Laamu has a naturally beautiful house reef that runs for over a kilometre. It also has one of the best snorkelling reefs and dive spots that we have been to in the Maldives located just five minutes by boat from the resort. Every Atoll in the Maldives is different and the Southern Atolls are known for their vibrant coloured coral.

Let us organise an amazing house reef tour for you with the resident marine biologist to take you to what we call the Secret Garden.

The Cinema Under the Stars is an amazing experience located in the middle of the island, set amidst dense tropical vegetation. With surround sound speakers throughout the trees, you are invited to lie back and enjoy the latest movie or an old classic . Let us arrange a private movie night just for you.

For Families, Six Senses has a great children’s club: The Den which offers an interactive program both indoors and out. As this is a densely vegetated island bikes are a fantastic way to explore the island.

You must try the Laamu Bliss - an amazing Maldivian-inspired massage using Coconut Oil, followed by a warm wrap, head massage and to finish a cool cucumber conditioner.

The nine Nest treatment rooms at the Spa are literally the best spa treatment rooms in the world if you are looking for a natural environment. Access is via a bridge with some nests facing the beach and others set higher in the canopy of the palm trees. An arched doorway leads you in.
